The Daiwa 25 Saltist Star Drag (SD) 20H multiplier reel is engineered for serious saltwater anglers, delivering the raw power, speed, and durability needed to tackle hard-fighting species in the demanding UK sea fishing environment. Inheriting the core strength of the Saltist family, this latest iteration features refined components and a high-speed retrieve, making it a versatile tool for both shore and boat applications.

Product Details and Uses

The 25 Saltist 20H is a high-performance star drag conventional reel. Its robust construction is designed to withstand the corrosive nature of the marine environment, ensuring a reliable performance season after season.

Key UK Fishing Applications:

Shore Fishing (Uptide/Rough Ground): The reels responsive Centrifugal Brake System allows for a high degree of casting control, making it an excellent choice for casting heavy baits and leads over mixed to rough ground from the shore. Its high-speed 6.4:1 gear ratio is perfect for rapidly retrieving tackle over snags once the cast is complete or bringing in big fish quickly before they reach cover.Boat Fishing (Uptiding & General Bottom Fishing): The 20H size is ideal for general inshore boat fishing, particularly for uptiding for species like Rays, Smoothhounds, and Cod. The powerful ATD drag system ensures a smooth line release under pressure, giving you the confidence to manage battles with large fish without fear of tackle failure.Wrecking and Jigging: The high retrieve rate and robust construction make it a superb reel for vertical jigging or working lures and pirks over wrecks and reefs for Pollock and Cod, allowing for quick lure presentation and rapid retrieval of deep-running fish.Tackling Hard Fighters: With a maximum drag of 8kg and a strong aluminium frame, this reel is perfectly suited for taming larger UK specimens, including Conger Eel, Skate, and offshore species.

Features at a Glance:

ATD (Automatic Tournament Drag): A carbon fibre drag system that is smooth, powerful, and automatically adjusts to running fish, providing progressive stopping power while maintaining consistency.High-Speed 6.4:1 Gear Ratio: A fast retrieve rate of approximately 100cm of line per handle turn, crucial for rapid line pickup and quickly gaining control of a fish.Centrifugal Brake System: Provides fine-tuned spool control, allowing for long, accurate, and backlash-free castsideal for shore and uptide fishing.Corrosion Resistance: Features CRBB (Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings) and a protective anodised finish on the frame and side plates to significantly enhance longevity in saltwater.Machined Aluminium Construction: A one-piece aluminium frame and side plate deliver maximum rigidity and strength while keeping the reel relatively light.Soft Egg Knob: Fitted for superior comfort and grip, especially when fighting large fish.
