Key Performance Features

Narrow Spool Design: The N in 5NS stands for narrow. This makes the reel incredibly easy to manage, as you dont have to use your thumb as much to level the line during the retrieveperfect for high-speed jigging.

Carbonite Drag System: Featuring Cals Drag Grease, this system is famous for its smoothness. It provides a consistent, jerk-free drag even when under extreme pressure from a fast-running fish.

Silent Retrieve: The internal mechanics are designed for total silence and smoothness, giving you a high-end, connected feel when winding.

Corrosion Resistance (CRC): Every part of this reel is either stainless steel, anodized aluminium, or treated with a specialized coating to ensure it survives the most demanding saltwater environments.

Where to Use the Okuma Cavalla CAV-5NSThis narrow-spool specialist is the ultimate weapon for several scenarios:

Wreck Jigging for Pollack & Bass: The 6.4:1 gear ratio allows you to work lures through the water column at the high speeds required to trigger aggressive strikes from Pollack.

Light to Medium Boat Jigging: Its compact size makes it a joy to use all day long for vertical jigging on reefs. The narrow spool prevents the line from bunching on one side.

Inshore Sharking: Dont let the size fool you. With 24lbs of drag and stainless steel gears, this reel has the backbone to handle hard-fighting Smoothhound, Tope, and Rays.

Kayak Fishing: Because it is so compact and virtually corrosion-proof, it is a favorite for kayak anglers who need high performance in a small, rugged package.

Gerrys Pro Tip: The Cavalla features a Lever Drag rather than a star drag. This allows you to set your Strike drag perfectly and return to it every time with 100% accuracy. Its a game-changer when youre using braid and need to know exactly how much pressure youre applying.
